Have an exam next Tuesday so will be staying in revising all week, where I hope I will not be tempted!!!!

It appears that the hunger is going as each day goes by, so that ofcourse makes it easier. Been on the diet for 10 days so quite pleased I've made it this far!

I already feel that I've lost quite a bit more, as my stomach seems to be shrinking, and things like get up from bed are easier! Despite not eating for 10 days, I feel more energetic, which was the opposite of what I expected.

As I've been drinking a lot of water over the last 10 days, I felt really thirsty today. The problem is when you drink water (and living in London with hardly any public loos) it's a bit of a risk as today I was nearly caught short. Although I don't advocate peeing in public, I just couldn't help it! But if that's a problem on the diet, it's something that's worth the inconvience!

Despite drinking beer last night, it doesn't appear to have increase my want of food, although I hope it will not show up when I go for my weigh-in.

Spent most of the afternoon/early evening at a friends house, watched the Carling Cup Final (poor Wigan) and helped put together a kitchen table and chairs. After all, if I can't bear to even hear about food, how can I seriously expect to continue?

Went to see my counsellor today and was pleased to see that the hard work is paying off - a loss of 10lbs!!!

To be honest I wasn't too sure how to take the news, as I've heard of over dieters losing up to 18lbs in the first week. But the more I think about it, YES, it was a brilliant result and am slowly beginning to feel proud of myself.

It seems that every advert on T.V is advertising food!
Every channel is showing a cookery show!
Every shop I pass is a restaurant!

Still quite hungry to be honest but it seems to be easing! First weigh-in on Friday so just trying to look ahead and visual the scales creaking less! Hoping I lose more than a stone this week, but don't want to focus too much on this figure in case I don't meet it and I'll be a bit disappointed.

Will keep you posted!

Was so hungry yesterday, more so than day 1! Had mint-choc shake and two packets of soup all day. Despite the hunger I'm sticking at it as after 3 days on the Cambridge diet, the hunger goes away as your body begins to burn fat and goes in to "ketosis!

For those not aware of the Cambridge Diet, it is simply based on not eating anything other than plenty of water, the sachets of milkshakes, soups and bars (all low in carbs & fat) which you obtain from a counsellor representing the Cambridge diet people. After a few days your body (now starved of carbs) begins to burn up reserved fat (ketosis)... which enables you to lose weight. There are 6 steps to the diet, introducing food in step 1 after four weeks and increasing your calorie intake up to stage 6 - maintenance stage!

It was quite strange really as I was hungry and kept thinking what I was going to cook to eat... then realised NO you're not supposed to eat! Drank about 3 and half litres of water which helped. Only had two meals on Saturday (the choc milkshake and chicken and mushroom soup) as was quite busy visiting family and friends. I think if I stay busy it won't be as bad. Just had a choc-mint shake for breakfast and 1 litre of water, so going out soon as the the sunday roast is teasing me!!!!

Big thanks to Mike (http://mycambridgelife.iblog.com) and James (http://jamesb.iblog.com) for their advice and support!

Also, congratulations to my sister Kareema who gave birth to her second child (another girl) last night (so let's hope the baby doesnt take my "fat genes"!)

Hello and Welcome!

Heard about the Cambridge diet from my aunt and was directed to a few blogs. Was simply amazed by the potential weight loss and the idea of not eating food (sole source) but the shakes and soups. I 've been over-weight since childhood and have battled to lose my weight. Despite numerous methods (and although success, as in a lot of cases, I put the weight back on and more). Enough is enough and I'm excited to begin what I am sure will be the beginning of a great journey.

Saw my counsellor last night and started the diet this morning. My current weight is 149kg (328lb/23 and a half stones) so there's a lot to do! Fingers crossed!

You're all welcome to visit me and send me emails!
